Jelly Food Nest
The Food Nest series explores the concept of edible containers, either hand-sized for single portions - or in larger nests for sharing with others. The concept illustrates a new aesthetic and typology of products that gives rise to new ways of handling food, encouraging new prehensile modes and meal rituals. Launched during the Salone del Mobile 2011 event in Milan, the containers are made with tomato as the principal ingredient and are specifically designed for the Italian ‘aperitivo’. The tomato is transformed into a range of tastes and textures : crunchy, firm, soft and jelly-like, each offering a marked and unique flavor profile.
