Plastic Recycled Furniture

A large amount of plastic waste is still landfilled in North America and in Europe. Their recycling would reduce the loss of energy and of potential material. Polyethylene and polypropylene are among the most commonly used and represent an important source of raw material for making furniture. Appropriate technologies for manufacturing recycled plastic furniture are explored in this project and compression, thermoforming and rotomoulding have been used to create industrial and limited furniture series.

Sweet and Sour Tiles

Plastic tiles are made in recycled PE in the form of granules, powders and flakes mixed together and compressed in large plastic compression machines to create plastic sheets and tiles that can be used in many applications. With the use of colourful post-domestic recycled plastic bottles, Diane Leclair Bisson has created fruit textures such as orange peel and contrasting flake textures.
