Edible Container Prototypes
Exploration of form and use in edible containers.
The Ring Bites has three small, aligned containers that can be broken-off along a scored line. The central element extends into a semi-circular ring beneath the plate, allowing it to be securely worn on the finger.
The Finger Bags replace the traditional presentation of finger foods by enabling individuals to gather two or three bags on a single finger, facilitating mobile eating practices.
The Fun Food Station is designed for children. It eliminates the need for plates, glasses, and utensils altogether. It is composed of three edible components: a vegetable-based cracker plate designed to hold food; an outer ring made of fruit paste, on which the plate rests and which serves as a reservoir for juice; and a straw made of hardened cookie.
The Break-Off Plate is designed to accommodate larger quantities of food and incorporates an opening that allows a napkin or utensil to be inserted. Its star-shaped form encourages participants to break off sections during the meal and to consume the plate once eating is complete. The plate is accompanied by a combined spoon-and-fork utensil.
The Food Pocket, larger than a bite-sized portion, is a portable alternative to a conventional plate.
